December 26 & 27, 2013 - welcomed by "Speech Communication" Department of Institute MICA

Dr. Lê Thị Vũ Xuân Xuyến, from Université Paris 7 - Denis Diderot, visited the International Research Institute MICA in December 2013.

Recordings of two of her former students were conducted at the studio of the Institute for the purposes of teaching and research in the Vietnamese Studies department at Université Paris 7. A pioneer in the study of the expression of emotions and attitudes in the Vietnamese language, Dr. Lê Thị Xuyến prepared her PhD in Linguistics and Phonetics under the supervision of René Gsell (Institute of Phonetics, Paris 3 University): Etude contrastive de l'intonation expressive en français et en vietnamien (A Contrastive Study of Expressive Intonation in French and Vietnamese), 1989.

Her current research focuses on modality, time and aspect, as well as on expressiveness and phonostylistics.
