Résumé/Abstract:
My PhD thesis belongs to the project LORELA "Relative Location persons/objects in perceptual environments for blind people" which is funded by the BQR partners: Grenoble INP's laboratories IMEP, and TIMC Centre and international research center MICA. In our project, an electro-stimulation device is used to help visually impaired people to navigate their environment and position themselves in relation to the objects in the scene. The information transfer is treated based on technology of image / video signal processing. Together with wireless technologies and size reduction, the device is optimized to provide the disabled person a powerful but reliable tool.
