...on conservation and sustainable management of biodiversity. This meeting, supported by SEA-EU-NET, Nasati, CNRS and CIRAD, is organised in Hanoi 25-27 January 2010.

Objectives of the meeting:
In the Thematic “Environment” of the 7th FP of the European Commission : i) analysis of current research priorities in SEA (South East Asia) and their overlaps with the FP7 thematic areas ii) develop some justification for a strategic approach to international collaboration of EU environmental research with SEA as major cooperation region:

  • Deliverable 1: a 3-4-page synthetic document

Based on your scientific expertise, knowledge of both European and SEA policy contexts in S&T and outputs from your previous or on-going projects à Identify concrete research topics of mutual EU-SEA interest:

  • Deliverable 2: a 3-4-page synthetic document presenting the mid to long-term research issues of mutual EU-SEA interest;
  • Deliverable 3: a 2-page document proposing a list of 2 or 3 funding instruments targeted to SEA and/ or particularly well suited for international cooperation.

MICA Center participation:
Pierre Grard researcher from CIRAD, actually working in MICA Center, will present a talk on "Main concerns about conservation and sustainable management of biodiversity in Southeast Asia" (with co-author Georges Michaloud from CNRS) and also will be the chairman of the thematic session "Land-use and forest ecosystems".
