Résumé/Abstract:
In recent years, scene text detection and recognition techniques have achieved reliable successes with commercial products such as Google Translate and Microsoft Translate. However, many challenges in this research field have not been solved yet, as multi-orientation, blur, and perspective scene texts and so on. This presentation will go to discuss these challenges, state-of-the-art techniques, and then describe further about my current research works. The future targets are accompanied and explained by following steps of an end-to-end scene text spotting system. At the end, a scene text reading application for aiming elderly is entertained and also be brought to this presentation for discussion.
